Timothy Geithner - Treasury Secretary
Born in 1961, Geithner, like Obama, spent most of his childhood outside of the United States. Obama said that because Geithner studied both Chinese and Japanese, he knew the language of business. Sorry, Obama, the language of business is English.

Geithner is considered a protege of the Clinton administration's Robert Rubin. Rubin served as the chairman of the failed Citigroup, the one we just had to bail out.

Geithner's salary in 2007 was just under $400,000 a year. We have to wonder why he's taking the pay cut to join Obama? Most likely to get far more wealthy as Obama "spreads the wealth around."

So, Geithner is just a re-hashed version of Bill Clinton's Treasury Secretary, Robert Rubin.

Updated 01/13/2009 Well, well, well...it seems Mr. Geithner didn't pay $34,000 in taxes owed to the IRS from 2001 to 2004. The average American would be in jail by now. Geithner paid some of it back in 2006. However, Obama's transition team just discovered he still owed quite a bit. That's the hypocrisy we can expect from the Obama administration. They say spread your wealth and they keep theirs hidden. Geithner said that these were "errors" and not intentional. $34,000 is a huge "error." Whether or not it was an "error," shouldn't we expect more from a Secretary of the Treasury? Hey, Obama, do you think you can get us someone more proficient in math rather than multiple languages for the Department of the Treasury? Geithner is nothing but another democrat that thinks he's above the law. When they are caught, it was simply an "error." The "error" would never have been discovered had Obama not nominated him.
