Sonia
Sotomayor - Nominee for Supreme Court Justice
On
May 26, the inept one, Barack Hussein Obama, announced his pick for the replacement
of US Supreme Court Justice David Souter. It was Sonia Sotomayor. While Souter,
who was appointed by President (41) George H W Bush, turned out to be a liberal
pretending to be a conservative, Sotomayor is exactly as she appears; a radical
liberal. She has a long track record of poor decisions and is even on tape describing
what she does is writing policy, not interpreting the law.
Sotomayor was born
in 1954. She is currently a federal appeals judge on the Second Circuit. She was
born in the Bronx, New York to parents who were Puerto Rican. This fulfilled Obama's
first two requirements for his first choice of a Supreme Court; she is a woman
and she is a Hispanic.
Although she was nominated by President George H W Bush
to be a federal judge before her lunacy was known, it was Bill
Clinton who elevated her to her present position on a federal appeals court
in 1997. Since that time she has made stupid decision after stupid decision.
Of
her decisions that were appealed, over 80% of them have been overturned. Other
justices, including fellow democrats cite the fact that she doesn't know or use
the law when making decisions.
As mentioned, was so stupid that she knowingly
said, "The court of appeals is where policy is made," while acknowledging
that she was being taped and stating that she knew this was wrong to do. It is
the legislative branch that is supposed to write the laws and the judges are supposed
to interpret the laws. Supreme Court Justices are to determine whether or not
the lower court decisions are constitutional not by writing policy from the bench,
but by a strict reading of the US
Constitution.
Obama introduced Sotomayor saying that she has more experience
than the current Supreme Court justices had when they were nominated. Suddenly,
experience matters to Obama who has none. However, what good is experience when
she has spent 17 years making the same mistakes over and over?
This brings us
to her being a racist and a sexist and intending to use that bias as a Supreme
Court justice. Sotomayor said, "I would hope that a wise Latina woman with
the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion
than a white male." If you don't think that statement is racist and sexist,
try reversing the principals: "I would hope that a wise white male with the
richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion
than a Latina woman."
The problem with that racist and sexist statement
is that Sotomayor's goes beyond prejudice. She is in fact stating that she does
not intend to follow the law. She intends on following her feelings. In other
words, if she gets a case where there is a minority and/or woman v. white male,
she will side with not the law, but with how sorry she feels for the minority
and/or woman.
If Obama truly needs someone with the experiences of the downtrodden,
he should pick a repeat felon; not an Affirmative Action poster child such as
Sotomayor or himself.
This brings us to another point of contention with liberals.
Obama and Sotomayor are quick to blame America and say how impossible it is for
someone of ordinary means to acquire opportunity. Yet, they somehow managed to
rise far beyond the level of their incompetence. They always claim it was hard
work. However, when we examine the lives of Obama and Sotomayor, we discover that
it was simply reverse discrimination that allowed them to leapfrog over those
far more qualified.
There are plenty of examples of hard working minorities
that got to high positions through their efforts and talents. Supreme Court Justice
Clarence Thomas and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice come to mind. However,
they are attacked by the left simply because they were conservatives who were
competent enough to get where they are without using Affirmative Action and quotas.
They proved that you don't need liberals saying that you need their help to get
ahead in America.
With a huge democrat majority in the senate, it looks like
Sotomayor will be confirmed no matter how unqualified and biased she is. If it
wouldn't be her, it would be some other equally unqualified liberal. The only
bright spot is that it will be a lifetime legacy of just how stupid Barack Hussein
Obama really is.
