Donovan - Secretary of Housing and Urban Development
Born
in 1966, Donovan is currently the head of the New York City's Department of Housing
Preservation and Development. Another throw-back to the failed Clinton administration,
Obama selected Donovan because of his ties to Washington insiders and his reputation
for developing affordable housing.
With home prices being at record lows, how
much more affordable housing do we need? Maybe Obama foresees the results of his
economic policies and thinks that we will all be living in huts on $12 dollars
a year like his brother in Kenya.
Obama said in his last radio address, "We
can't keep throwing money at the problem, hoping for a different result. We need
to approach the old challenge of affordable housing with new energy, new ideas,
and a new, efficient style of leadership. We need to understand that the old ways
of looking at our cities just won't do." That's an odd statement in that
Obama just demanded that we bail out the United Auto Workers that have bankrupted
the American auto industry. Maybe Obama wants to create a "new" version
of Fannie Mae to plunder, now that the democrats sucked the old one dry.
Anyway,
there is nothing new about Donovan or his ideas. If Obama had any real interest
in housing, he wouldn't have had real estate dealings with convicted felon Antoin
"Tony" Rezko and Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich's wife. If you want
to see what Obama has planned for America's housing, just look at the slums in
his district of the Southside of Chicago.
