Obama's
Lies
Barack Hussein Obama lied through out the campaign and continues to
lie after the election. Below are his lies followed by the truth. This list will
continue to grow like Pinocchio's nose.
"I inherited this economy."
No,
you helped create this economy with the democrats since 2006. You were in the
US senate, remember? Also, you ran your campaign on being the only one who can
fix this economy.
"Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to
the president before the public has the opportunity to review them. As president,
I will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity
to review and comment on the White House website for five days."
The
first bill he signed into law was the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act; only two days
after it was passed.
He claimed that the "Porkulus" spending bill
was needed immediately and ordered congress to pass it, which they did without
having time to read it themselves. The bill was then given to lobbyists to read
before the American public. While claiming this bill an emergency, Obama refused
to immediately sign it. Not because the American people hadn't had a chance to
read it, but because he was on a Presidents' Day holiday weekend and said he would
sign it on following Tuesday. Still, that's less than four full days. If it was
such an emergency, maybe he would have stayed on the job, rather than gong on
holiday. If it could wait a few days for his signature, surely congress and the
American people could have been allowed time to read the bill, which is over 1,000
pages long.
"We are going to ban all earmarks, the process by which
individual members insert pet projects without review. We will create an economic
recovery oversight board made up of key administration officials and independent
advisors to identify problems early and make sure we are doing all we can to solve
it."
In fact, the spending bill is filled with earmarks and pet projects
of the democrats. For example, Nevada's Harry Reid was sure that his 300 MPH train
project that would connect Anaheim, California with Las Vegas was in the bill.
It will take years for it to clear all of the environmental studies needed before
it is even started.
"We need earmark reform, and when I’m president,
I will go line by line to make sure we’re not spending money unwisely."
Okay,
so maybe you gave him a pass for the "Porkulus" spending bill, believing
his lie that it is a "crisis." Then how does he explain signing the
$410 billion Omnibus bill that had approximately 9,000 earmarks?
"I
don't take a dime of their (lobbyists') money; and when I am president, they won't
find a job in my White House."
Obama even made an executive order
to that effect. He then proceeded to name healthcare lobbyist Tom
Daschle as Secretary of Health and defense lobbyist William
Lynn as Deputy Secretary of State. Daschle dropped out after being discovered
as a tax cheat. As a matter of fact, USA Today reported that Obama had hired 21
lobbyists for his administration and that was only as of one week after his inauguration.
"I
agree that any hiring or other employment decisions I make will be based on the
candidate's qualifications, competence, and experience."
Just looking
over his recent picks, they were all political.
Many had absolutely no experience for the job they were given. A good example
of a person with a lack of experience is Leon
Panetta. As for incompetence, he put a tax cheat, Timothy
Geithner, to head up the IRS as Secretary of the Treasury. It goes down hill
from there.
"Transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones
of this presidency."
Besides the already mention spending bill that
he insisted be passed before anyone had a chance to read it, he
still won't release any of his own records.
"The cost of health
care now causes a bankruptcy in America every thirty seconds."
That's
just an out and out lie. At that rate, Obama is saying that well over a million
bankruptcies a year are due to health care costs. When challenged on the numbers,
Obama said his lie was based on a 2001 Harvard study. If that's true, then why
did he say "now?" The fact is that in 2001 there were just over 1.4
million bankruptcies in total in the United States and less than 248,000 of those
were due to health care expenses.
