Locke - Secretary of Commerce
Born
in 1950, Locke served two terms as Washington's democrat governor (1997-2005).
Obama is hoping that three is the charm for this nominee position. This is Obama's
thrid choice, after Bill Richardson
and Judd Gregg were withdrawn.
Locke
is another Washington D.C. insider. He also served in the House of Representatives.
He violated campaign finance laws in 1996, which should not be a surprise, since
he's a democrat.
On the bright side, democrats criticized his Republican no-taxes
approach in solving Washington State's budget problems as governor in 2001.
After
giving the rebuttal speech to Bush's State of the Union address in 2003, Locke
received death threats and did not seek a third term as governor. Again, not surprising
as democrats are spineless.
