America's Freedoms Under Attack: Socialism - Day 557

Craig Becker - NLRB Appointee
Craig BeckerBecker is associate general counsel at the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). As political payback, Obama nominated this anti-business activist to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). As all of Obama's nominations, this one has political motives.

Back in 1993, Becker wrote an article for the Minnesota Law Review while he was, what else, a professor at UCLA. In the article, Becker stated that he thought the labor laws should be written to favor the unions. He also thought that this could be done by the NLRB without a vote from congress. In other words, Becker thinks that it's okay to legislate from political bodies other than congress; even though this is unconstitutional.

SEIU is known for having close ties to the now disgraced group, ACORN. SEIU is also known for beating elderly people and blacks at last summer's town hall meetings where voters expressed their anger at their representatives. This was and is typical Chicago style politics mixed with union thugs. The SEIU knows that if people aren't intimidated, they SEIU would be out of business.

Becker denies ties with ACORN, but it's clear they exist. ACORN is tied to the SEIU and Becker is the SEIU's attorney.

The US senate rejected Obama's nominee, Craig Becker. Democrats joined Republicans in the effort to keep Becker off of the NLRB. After the democrats lost their super majority with the election of Republican senator Scott Brown in Massachusetts, a few senate democrats grew a spine and went against Obama's wishes.

Obama threatened to go against the senate's rejection by making appointments while the senate is in recess.

Obama is now losing democrat support after losing the independents and never having the support of Republicans. November looms.
