Bill
Richardson - Secretary of Commerce
Born
in 1947, Bill Richardson is Obama's pick for Secretary of Commerce. Why not? He
has all of that experience as governor of that economic powerhouse called New
Mexico! He also is an old Washington D.C. insider. You know, the kind that Obama
promised not to bring into his administration. Plus, as an added bonus, Richardson
is the one who stabbed Hillary Clinton in the back during the primaries.
Richardson
served as Bill Clinton's ambassador to the United Nations and as Energy Secretary.
We all remember what a great organization the UN is, right? They had the oil-for-food
scam deal with Saddam and sponsor anti-American activity across the globe. We
also remember the energy fiascos of the Clinton administration.
Yes, Obama sure
knows how to pick them. Who gets to sit between Hillary and Richardson in Cabinet
meetings?
Bill Richardson removed his name from
consideration after it was determined that the investigation of his "pay-to-play"
scams would not be resolved and he could face a similar fate as the Illinois Governor
Blagojevich. It seems that Richardson would award state contracts only to those
who "donated" money to him. While Richardson and Obama
claim it was Richardson's decision, Obama's team blamed Richardson for not telling
them everything before he was nominated. However, one must wonder how Richardson
was vetted after looking at Obama's job
application. Look for more controversy in his cabinet choices. |
